Monday - Friday 9am - 5 pm 37.5 hrs per week

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) – NYC Office The Public Health Nutritionist RD under the direct supervision of the Public Health Nutritionist II will conduct program reviews and evaluation activity in the Metropolitan Region, make recommendations regarding the outcomes of all reviews conducted and oversee that corrective actions are implemented by independent organizations in timely and effective manner. The PHN 1 will provide specific nutrition expertise, as it relates to children, children with special health care needs, and functionally-impaired adults in a day-care setting. The PHN 1 will function as an evaluator, contracts manager, educator, consultant, planner and coordinator.
Responsibilities
Review and evaluate CACFP Independent Organization’s activity in the Metropolita Region (5 boroughs and counties)

• Monitor CACFP agreements and conduct annual program reviews and evaluations, as mandated by the USDA and State Program regulations, using the CMPXpress and Laptop computer.

• Provide technical assistance to CACFP Independent Organizations as it relates to program services, menu records, food service operations and record keeping.

• Monitor sponsor compliance to program requirements such as, regulations, civil rights, tax-exempt status, Title XX Certification, Income Eligibility Applications and sanitation permits.

• Review all documents that the Independent Organization must have on file, including, current CACFP Application and Management Plan, Agreement with updated Management Plan, license or other appropriate certificate of occupancy, Letter to Household and documentation of staff training.

Report results of program review and evaluation and follow-up to ensure that all corrective actions are implemented in a timely and appropriate manner.

• Submit completed review report with recommendations to PHN supervisor, in a timely manner.
• Submission of written communication to the Independent Organization that includes steps for implementation of the corrective action.

Provide expert technical assistance to Independent ORganizations

• Respond and document request for technical assistance; during the site visit, telephone and consultation and written communication, as appropriate.

• Identify priorities for technical assistance based on monthly reports and review documentation.
Assist Independent Organization on conducting in houe staff training.
Facilitate training for Independent Organizations on the menu recod book and recordkeeping.

• Serve as a resource to the Independent Organization in activities relating to nutrition and the dietary needs of children and functionally-impaired adults in day care.

Analyzed Independent Organization’s documentation, identify need for technical assistance, make recommendations for revision of policies.

• Review reports, interpret program data and compare statistical information.

• Identify independent organization participant needs and modify schedule of reviews as necessary.

• Make recommendations on data collection needs and procedures as it applies to Administrative Review Tools.

Other tasks assigned.

Must have a valid drivers license, must have a car for travel Must have a NYS RD license

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE A MUST, CMP Xpress a Plus
Typing greater than 60 wpm accurately
Mostly Review
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Requires a bachelors degree and is a registered dietitian with 3-15 years exp.

Requirements
Mileage reimbursement from site to site @ .50 cents per mile
Background check and Drug test required.
